Pete Penycate - Founder Member - CM My name is Pete Penycate, or BaldyMan, I now live in Tangmere West Sussex Very close to Historic Goodwood Motor Circuit. I used to earn my money as a driver which is how I have made a living all my working life starting with a Reliant three wheeler van. (Del Boy). I now work at Goodwood mainly at the circuit but also elsewhere on the estate. I have been involved with motor sport from a very early age as I have three older brothers the eldest of the three used to race bikes. The other two used to ride in trials. I started as a marshal at trials and scrambles. (moto cross as it is now) Had a spell as a specie at Oval Racing and Circuits before having a spell as part of a Kart Racing service crew. That was followed by a spell of armchair motor sport. Got back into hands on motor sport by helping out a local club. (Farnborough District MC) I have been Chief Marshal at Sprints and Dept Chief at Rallies. From there I have gone on to reach Rally Marshal Grade 2 and since the start of this year (2004) made the Grade of Course Marshal. Thanks go to Ian Stevens Senior Track Steward at Goodwood, I got to know Ian through rallying and he kept asking me to marshal a sprint at Goodwood Circuit, by doing that I got to meet the circuit marshals who I thought were a different breed of people, HOW WRONG I WAS. They (we) are a great bunch of Guys and Girls and you will be made very welcome. Pete. |

Simon Williams - Founder Member- SJW75 My name is Simon Williams and I live in Reading, Berkshire. I've always been interested in motorsport but until recently I had never got involved in any clubs or events. I spend my working week "tinkering" with computers and needed to get involved in a hobby to get me away from the "Joys of work" I've often thought about building a rally car and driving, but to be honest I just cant afford it. So I decided to try my luck at getting involved in the running of rallies. After visiting the South of England Tempest Rally on Sunday 26th 2003, I made the decision to make some enquires and stop talking and start doing ! I have mainly marshalled stage rallies to date but am finding it increasingly more difficult to find local events, I don't really want to travel hours to marshal. After a conversation with Pete at the motor club one week I decided to give circuit marshalling a go. I still marshal at rallies but find myself at the local circuits, hillclimbs and sprints more often. Simon.
